High-speed processing devices are typically designed on finer geometry semiconductor processes and therefore require a very low impedance for their power and signal pins. Three-terminal capacitors provide lower impedance as compared to general MLCC by forming a smaller current loop. Three-terminal capacitors are an excellent replacement to multiple general purpose capacitors in parallel to effectively reduce the impedance.
