TPF45000-385 Non-Isolated Modular AC/DC Power Supply
TDK Lambda’s power supply enclosure measures 450 mm wide, 113 mm high, and 533 mm deep
TDK-Lambda's TPF45000-385 non-isolated modular AC/DC power supply was developed for use in distributed power architectures (DPA) and DC microgrids. The 98% efficient, 45 kW rated TPF45000 provides a regulated 385 VDC output with an output current of up to 117 A. The very low internal losses enable the use of cooling by fans, avoiding the complexity of water cooling.
This industrial grade product can be used in semiconductor test and burn-in systems, replacing multiple traditional AC/DC power supplies driving 48 V input DC/DC converters at localized load points. High-current bus bars are no longer required when utilizing the TPF's 385 VDC output, which provides power to similar DC/DC converters accepting 200 VDC to 420 VDC inputs.
The TPF45000 is also suitable for LED-based horticultural lighting which can also benefit from 385 VDC microgrid topology-based power systems. AC power drawn from the grid for lighting can be dramatically reduced by using solar panels and other renewable sources, reducing a grower's electricity costs. When alternative energy sources are not available, the 98% efficient TPF45000 provides the necessary power for the lighting. Many LED drivers now accept high-voltage DC input, reducing the power lost during the AC/DC conversion.
Comprising of up to ten 4.5 kW modules, the series can deliver up to 45 kW of output power in a less than 3U high package and operates from a wide range Delta or Wye 360 VAC to 528 VAC three-phase input. The unit can operate at full load in ambient temperatures from -10°C to +50°C (-20°C start-up). The enclosure measures 450 mm wide (excluding side rack mount flanges), is 113 mm high, and has a depth of 533 mm. The weight of the product is 30 kg.
The TPF45000 is fully featured with DC Good, dropped phase, overtemperature, fault alarm signals, remote on/off and a 13 V to 15 V 0.5 A auxiliary output. PMBus™ and USB communications interfaces allow remote monitoring of the input voltage, output voltage, output current, internal temperature, status signals and fan. In addition, the remote on/off can be programmed by the PMBus.
The power supply has 2 kVAC primary to ground isolation, is certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1, and carries the CE mark for the low voltage, EMC, and RoHS directives. The TPF45000 also complies with EN55032-A (conducted and radiated emissions), SEMI F47-0706 (line dips), and IEC 61000-4 (immunity).
