For those open loop applications that require multiple DACs in a single package, Analog Devices offers the LTC2656 octal DAC. The LTC2656 is a voltage output DAC that includes output amplifiers and achieves better than ±4 LSB INL (maximum over temperature) on all eight DACs. This excellent INL makes the LTC2656 a good fit for multi-channel open loop or closed loop systems. The LTC2656 also includes an integrated reference. Customers can choose between a package option for a 1.25V or 2.048V internal reference, providing a DAC output range from 0V to 2.5V and 0V to 4.096V, respectively. Customers can also apply an external reference for non-standard output voltage ranges up to 0V to 5V. The LTC2656’s temperature coefficient is a very low 2ppm per degree Celsius, typical, and 10ppm maximum, providing a very stable reference for the DAC outputs. The LTC2656 is offered in a pair of 20-pin packages: a tiny 4mm x 5mm QFN and a TSSOP package and is the smallest 16-bit octal DAC with an internal reference available on the market today.
