The primary function of any POL is to convert from one voltage to another with the highest possible efficiency. Increased efficiency reduces heat dissipation, allows a smaller package size and also reduces primary energy consumption. The SPM series offers industry-leading efficiency among comparable products, through the use of high performance magnetic materials and Sumida’s Power Supply in Inductor technology. Low loss MOSFETs and a constant ON-time control ensure the efficiency curve remains relatively flat from 100% load, down to below 5% load.
