In addition to traditional single-ended sampling, the ADC module also supports differential sampling of two analog input channels. To enable differential sampling, software must set the Dn bit in the ADC sample sequence control register in the step configuration nibble. When a sequence step is configured for differential sampling, the input pair to sample must be configured in the sample sequence multiplexer register. Differential pair 0 samples analog inputs 0 and 1; differential pair 1 samples analog inputs 2 and 3; and so on. The diagram on this slide shows the conversion range of the ADC in the differential mode. The conversion result will vary from 0 hex to FFF hex for the input voltage range starting from negative difference between the ADC reference voltages to the positive difference between the ADC reference voltages.
